Argy’s Records & Entertainment Shop

This is my go to place. I have know Ray for years, but I have only recently gotten back into collecting. He is always willing to go that extra mile and find that rare gem for me. The one time I had an issue (wife got me something I already had) he exchanged it no questions asked. He also posts the new stuff online...and I love the sound of the flipping records. Only down side is he really knows his stuff and sometimes I spend way too much time talking music...lol

Considering the unexpected embarrassment of soul music riches at almost every other record store in town, this was a surprising (but kind of not) come down. Easily one of the worst Soul and Funk record selections in town. Somewhat expected, but I drove like 30 miles to get here! My bad. Anyway. If you like non Soul stuff, they appear to have a lot. But it was busy, and the disappointment was so great that I left pretty briskly.Update: In the end, with a woefully lacking Funk and Soul section, this is a 3 star record store. As the owner clearly demonstrates in his response, you can certainly *TRY* to condescend yourself into a couple of extra stars, but it's kind of a hollow exercise.Again, if you like Rock and pop, could be a decent destination for you.

I live in Ottawa and have ordered from Argy's now after a friend suggested them. The site is easy to use and selection is pretty good. We had one mix-up on an order and they were great in helping us resolve it. What seals the deal for me is how they ship their records. They come bubble wrapped and put in a thick cardboard box made for the records, plus they are insured. Amazing service and I look forward to buying more!

I've been looking for a new record store to frequent considering the store I used closed down. Argy's had everything that you could possibly imagine and then some. Lots of very good quality hard to find vinyl for a good price. Owner is very personable and makes it less of a store but more of an outing. I will be frequenting this shop.
