the record section is great but the store itself sucks. everything is ridiculously overpriced (and no, it’s not because the clothes are ethically sourced, because the same brands are available in many other places for much cheaper) and the lady that’s always working at the register has horrid vibes. i wouldn’t usually make a review like this but if you’re running a hippie store i think it’s important to have a friendly demeanor when you speak with customers. every time i walk into this place i feel like my friends and i are completely unwelcome- i understand being cautious of teens in a hippie store because of how many people steal, but it’s not good practice to assume the worst of your customers, especially if they’re returning customers. i’ve also had this lady lie to me to try to get me to buy stuff. just such a negative environment overall. not sure what this lady’s name is but you’ll know her when you see her. i really wish it wasn’t this way because aside from this lady the store is cool. still not a good place to go if you’re a hippie looking to support your fellow humans. a good place to go if you want to satisfy your aesthetic needs (and you have $60 to spend on a tie dyed tank top.)

this place is really cool! they have a great selection of records, cds, and cassettes, and also a nice little witchy corner as well. i always pick up some incense when i come here!

Tumbleweeds is my favorite store! At least half my wardrobe is from here, and they have the best jewelry and tie dye. Their vinyl selection is insanely impressive, and the staff is so helpful if you have questions. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

There’s some great shops in ct. Dan at mystic disc, Ian at records the good kind, gerosa, elm city and several others. Tumbleweeds is not one of the same. Selection is typically grim, which I could live with, if the lady working the front desk wasn’t as miserable as she is.

Great store! Hands down all around wonderful experience. Front room scented with incense flavors of all kinds, from Niantic t-shirts to hippie funky threads, such a variety to choose from. And the back record room is also where it's at in terms of a balanced cross-section of genres from pop/rock to jazz of mainly used vinyl records. As you travel to the back side of the store chock full of LPs, there are cassettes on the wall and used CD racks of several different genres as well. Great nuggets to be found within this treasure trove LPs, great steals and it's fairly priced too. Staff there are courteous and informative about the clothing to the music. Been a local customer for at least a decade and i keep coming back for more! Tumbleweeds is a family owned shop on Niantic's main street that is a go-to retail institution for anyone who comes to visit Niantic Bay!
