Fair buy/trade-in value, selection of hard to find local artist CDs, huge jazz collection but other vinyl genres still above-average selection for a new-ish record store. This place is becoming as established as any record store in the area.

If Jazz records are your thing, or Soul/R&B for that matter, then this joint is for you. The prices are great, too, with hundreds of $6-$15 records. There’s gems all over, the staff are lovely, and the mood is equally pleasant!

What a great record store. This was a recent find for me. Since then, I purchased two fantastic box sets both at great prices: "Bird: The Complete Charlie Parker on Verve" and "Atlantic Rhythm And Blues 1947-1974" among other CDs. While I'm partial to CDs (of which HR Records has many at a great price) they really excel in their selection of LPs. The staff, without exception, are friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I will be back!

My kind of record store! HR records is amazing! The staff is welcoming and answered any questions my friend and I had about records! I love digging with jazz playing in the background! The shop is well organized and they have plenty of records to dig in! HR is now one of my favorite D.C shops!
