This is a fabulous place to get lost in the hunt for some vinyl gems.If you are going here for the first time, give yourself lots of time. This is not a quick stop to pick up the latest release but rather a full immersion into music like it was when I was a teen in the 70's!They have several quality level sections for lp's so whether you are just massing an average collection or looking for those excellent to near mint records to fill out your collection, Space Monkey is worth your time. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. At first flush the store is overwhelming but that's ok, just pick a spot start flipping through records and soon you'll be relaxed and fell all comfy like that favorite pair of shoes you wear around the house. You know, that feeling like you just belong there. They also sell CD's and I saw some cassettes and 78's too. The store is peppered throughout with vintage hifi equipment and speakers and a healthy amount of rock memorabilia. It's an all around great record store with a little something for everyone.

I don’t usually rate record stores as there’s one for everyone’s taste but this one left a bad taste. The owner didn’t seem to care if there was customers or not. Sure the experience and vibe was “cool” but along with that came signs & “rules” on where to look. I actually left before even really looking because I was appalled at the prices. If you collect newer music or sealed albums expected to be not catered to or taken Advantage of. I feel bad for any inexperienced collectors who become victims of being charged $50 for half sealed common black pressing of per se, Harry Styles. I’d rather look at target than here again. If you got hours to flip through thousands of mixed up $1 quality records then I guess this is the stop for you, but this store seemed to only accept a certain type of buyer & listener. As a music pro/lover, owner of 300 LPs, I hated to give my time to such a predatory store. Very disappointed, especially after visiting the other Evansville shop that was ran by a phenomenal couple. Won’t be back

Overpriced, 5$ crates are a joke, they need a dollar and .50 section. At least go through your stock before you put it in a 5$ bin. And the stuff worth buying is over priced

I walked in off the street and left with a great setup and access to tons of media both new and used. The staff are warm and friendly and were willing to teach a newbie all I needed to know to get started. They stand behind their products and are super easy to work with. 5/5 will be back!

Had a day off in Evansville and was pleasantly surprised when a friend and I stopped in. The selection was vast and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I walked out with a bunch of great albums and 45's. Still sealed albums and a great selection of Beatles 45's all reasonably priced. Can't wait to get back for another visit. I highly recommend you do the same.
