Very nice employees, great vibe, very nice selection of music, they had records playing while I was there. The employee who rung me out was very helpful. I wasn't able to find what I was looking for, and he looked it up and found it right away for me. Keep doing what you're doing!

This is the record shop Dayton’s been needing for quite some time. The type of shop you’d discover in Chicago, Asheville, or New Orleans. Where the weird feel at home and you’re not flipping through 200 musty covers of junk nobody wants you’d find for $0.85 at a thrift store. It’s eclectic, but curated, and you trust that if it’s there, there’s a reason. It makes you want to explore, get out of your musical comfort zone and broaden your idea of what music can be. The owner Luke genuinely cares, and as he's one of the leaders of the region's noise / diy scene I’m excited to see what kind of awesome performances and weird stuff will go down here in an area of downtown that’s going through major growth and revitalization.

I'm a picky guy when it comes to records and music in general, especially after spending 3+ years working at a record store. I say this with all seriousness intended: Skeleton Dust is phenomenal. It outperforms stores across the country in its pricing, grading, and inventory. I have at all times at least 50 records in my wantlist sitting at Skeleton Dust, and for a store as small as it is to have that is IMPRESSIVE. Luke knows what he's doing, and we'd all be better off if more record stores across the country approached the business with the professionalism and fairness that he and his staff does.

I wanted to wait to write this until I had been here a couple times, and been to some other record shops. For Dayton, this is the better store. A more finely manicured selection. I find desirable titles, enticing. I don't feel like I am wasting my time sifting through duplicates of garbage. The store is clean, people are nice. Its a good experience.
