The best Record Store in Marin; great collection of vinyl & cd’s. Barry is prolific with knowledge… He will find what you want, calls you right away when your order arrives.Five Stars!B.AugerFairfax
Incredibly helpful and friendly owner (I presume he's the owner). We wanted a specific album we saw the day before and called about it. He looked then, the whole drive there and helped still when we arrived but it was nowhere to be found. Then he stayed open after hours, doors locked, cause my boyfriend forgot his wallet in the car and had to walk back because we did end up buying something else. It's not his first time there and far from the last. So great to get incredible service and the selection is great too :)
I love this spot and a review is long overdue. If you know how to dig and what to dig for your complaints about pricing only show how out of touch you are with what it’s like to buy records in today’s time. This is not goodwill nor is it the estate sale where you can buy records in bulk for $25. Be realistic and be fair. Also do your homework before you go to any record store, often times they are curated towards that particular owners interests, would I go here for some house/dub records? No. Would I go here for the jazz and soul selections? Yes. I say all of this to say, this place is one of the last standalone record shops in Marin and I hope to be buying records for years to come.
I love going to Red Devil and in fact make about an hour drivr to do it. They have great diverse collection of records. All the classic renowned stuff are stocked, example Pink Floyd or Fleetwood Mac. So everyone will find something to buy here. Yet collectors can dig deep from some more out-of left-field stuff. Example Amon Duul II or Can.Vintage pressings and top of the line reissues are stocked. No poor quality reissues or originals, though you can find stuff at good price points.Used vinyl is accurately graded and I've found some of my best sounding copies here.If you are into punk, metal, or hard-core this is one of the best places to shop. Period. And yet this is the one punk record store where you can find a great jazz or soul record too!Service is thoughtful and professional. The owner will help you find records and make really good recommendations. Making a habit of supporting your local record store is a good practice. You may not always find that one rare record you want, but go to Red Devil, shop around, and get to know them and let them know your taste, and they will be happy to assist you in finding great records. This store is an example of a true love and appreciation for music and musical culture. In an increasingly digital world this is a refreshing reprieve.
Great selection of used and new vinyl. The inventory is always rotating. All genres sold, including an especially good selection of rock, punk, and jazz. The owner knows his stuff and is very transparent about what he is selling. The records are even graded. He is very helpful and will help you tell the difference between releases and pressings. This is a vinyl lover's paradise. I've found records here i've found nowhere else in the Bay Area. You are guaranteed a quality product at a reasonable price at Red Devil Records. Ignore the negative reviews.
