Community Guidelines
Built for and by music lovers, VinylMapper is a social community with a goal of creating the ultimate resource for finding and supporting local independent record stores.
We aim to create a vibrant, respectful, and inclusive space for enthusiasts to share their passion, connect, and collaborate. To ensure our community thrives, we ask that all members follow these Community Guidelines.
1. Respectful Communication
- Treat all members with respect and kindness. Harassment, hate speech, and personal attacks are strictly prohibited.
- Engage in constructive and meaningful conversations. Disagreements are natural, but ensure they remain respectful.
2. Relevant Content
- Posts and discussions should focus on vinyl records, music collecting, indie record stores, and related topics.
- Avoid off-topic content, excessive self-promotion, or spam. Content unrelated to the community’s mission may be removed.
3. Authenticity Matters
- Share genuine experiences, insights, and opinions. False information, impersonation, or deceptive behavior is not allowed.
- Ensure any claims or offers, such as record sales or trades, are accurate and verifiable.
4. Sales and Trading Etiquette
- Follow community-specific rules for buying, selling, or trading records.
- Clearly state terms, conditions, and item details in posts. Scams or dishonest transactions will result in immediate account suspension or banning.
- Report suspicious activity to the moderators.
5. Copyright and Fair Use
- Only share content you own or have permission to post. This includes images, videos, and music clips.
- Avoid uploading or sharing copyrighted material without proper authorization.
6. No Explicit or Offensive Content
- Do not post sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise offensive content.
- Avoid language or imagery that could alienate or harm other members.
7. Protect Privacy
- Respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal or sensitive information about yourself or other members without consent.
- Avoid posting identifiable details like addresses or contact information in public forums.
8. Collaborate and Support
- Use this space to connect with others, share ideas, and support indie record stores and collectors.
- Highlight and celebrate community milestones, events, and collaborations.
9. Moderator Role
- Our moderators are here to ensure the community remains safe, inclusive, and on-topic.
- Moderators reserve the right to remove content, suspend or ban accounts that violate these guidelines.
- If you have concerns or disputes, contact the moderators directly for assistance.
10. Reporting Issues
- If you encounter inappropriate content or behavior, use the reporting tools provided or notify us by using our “Report An Issue” form.
- Reports will be reviewed promptly, and appropriate action will be taken.

11. Updates to Guidelines
- These guidelines may be updated periodically to reflect the community’s evolving needs. Significant changes will be communicated to members.
