My wife and I have been building our vinyl collection for years now and have travelled all over looking for often rare and excellent quality albums. BOP CITY RECORDS is by far the best shop we’ve had the pleasure of shopping at. Two things stand out… there isn’t an album for sale that isn’t the best quality or higher and more importantly, the owner Kip is equally of the finest character. He’s laid back, super friendly and always going the extra mile in customer service. As far as we’re concerned, it’s the #1 record shop in BC, Alberta, Washington and beyond.

Awesome record shop in Courtenay. In the days when brick and mortar store fronts are rapidly depleting, especially in the boutique format, stores like Bop City are so important! Excellent selection and staff/ownership provide fabulous customer service. They will fulfil requests for individual orders, if what you’re looking for is not already available at the store. A great place to spend an afternoon perusing their musical offerings. Absolutely recommend!

Such a great hidden gem in our community, so many awesome finds in both vinyl and cds. The owners and staff are awesome, super knowledgeable, kind and helpful. If they don’t have what you want they will order it in for you.

I was spending 5 days at a resort in Tofino, and decided to stop at Bop City Records in Courtenay as we were heading to a ferry in Comox. Great selection, great service, and great prices. Picked up six albums, but would have picked up about 30 or 40 more had I not already purchased them beforehand on Discogs. They had tons of albums that I was looking for, including 12-in singles and new releases. I will definitely come here again when I'm in town. Highly recommended!

This has always been such a great record store for me since diving into the hobby. The owners and enployees have always been so helpful and understand the love for the music. Incredible shop with great people and great selection!
