Ghost of Eastside Records

This store is not for everyone and that is fine by me. It has a musty funky smell and isle are overflowing with bins. But the selection and prices where some of the best in Arizona. It is worth the dig and owners were knowledgable and fair with hard to find options.

I think I need a sixth star. This is the real deal. The "ghost" in the title seems appropriate: this place is situated in a decaying strip mall that seems a shadow of its former self. I had to enter from a weird side street and dodge a dumpster driving in. A cannabis dispensary next door really completes the atmosphere as you walk into this place, and then you're inside a cool, dark cave of records. Staffed by a gregarious vinyl sage, and you don't see that everyday. Great selections in the soul & rock crates, and I found some post-punk stuff I was looking for. Less emphasis on new vinyl, which is what I was hoping to find in the Phoenix area.Best of all, there are oodles and oodles of unsorted or half-sorted vinyl, CDs piled up all around, and just general half-controlled chaos throughout the store. This is the perfect environment for looking through vinyl, and I lost an hour and a half here and walked out with a nice stack of records. Thank you for existing, Ghost of Eastside Records, and I can't wait to come back!

I almost don't want to write this review... I'm affraid it will be run over by pretentious millenials and mess up a good thing...This place is awesome, there is a lot of stuff here to go through, some of the more mainstream artists are organized by name but there is a lot and I mean a lot of stuff in boxes, you need a few hours to go through and scratch the surface...There a several "sellers" in the same store and they have different stuff. The prices are fair and the people running it are helpfull, funny and they know their stuff...Bring a record bag or something if you buy more than one, this is not a tidy Urban Out.. type of place, this is a legit place to hunt for records... plus the 2 dogs running around are awesome too jaja...Great place, I will come back again !!!

Great service for sure. Found a few gems in fair condition but the price was right. Worth checking out for sure.
