The Next Record Store on Mendocino Ave recently acquired its name after a long run as The Last Record Store. With new management, the store has not changed too much. Still a great place to buy new and used vinyl and Cd's. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I purchased two Cd's at a great price today. Glad the store is still here.

I haven't been in a proper record store in ages and this was great! Usually I don't find much in the way of death metal albums but they have a great variety! Impressive!

continuing in the tradition of bizarre, moody, occasionally hostile customer service, former owner's son takes the last record store to a new low: the next record store. just can't seem to keep it in his pants with the rude, passive aggressive comments, little stings directed at the customers, and pervasive self-serving behavior, subtly and overtly lashing out presumably to soothe his resentment or whatever psychologic issues make this individual a horrendously bad match for an open floor, retail environment. same old, same old. employees follow suit with occasional exceptions. employees frequently seem incompetent, with shockingly poor knowledge of music and even worse awareness of store inventory. calling this business takes you straight to voicemail. apparently the owner cannot see the value in responding to customer inquiries, apparently preferring that those on the hunt for something particular take their business elsewhere. they also run an ebay store where anything truly interesting will end up, which effectively serves as a huge middle finger to local clientele. if you want to be abused, neglected, ignored, insulted, or treated with unbelievable contempt and arrogance, check this place out.

I went here yesterday and i loved it! the staff was kind and they had lots of good CDs and vinyls for a good price. I will definitely come here again and will recommend to friends and family.

Great place to find the classics in vinyl. I always start in the "New Arrivals" bin by the cashier. Frequently I find enough albums, that I don't want to look through the A-Z section. They really have it all. The only other Northbay used record store that's worth visiting is in Mill Valley.
