I visited the island last week, and my one thing to do while there was to visit this record store. Hungry Ear was everything I expected and more! It was clean and well organized. Everything was easy to find. Records were ALL alphabetized. This is a top-notch store to shop. If I move to the island, I am applying for employment there. This place is run well. Thank You!

I've been visiting Hungry Ear since hanging out at the Kailua store as a kid to shopping at the kakaako store on my visits home. Amazing selection, great staff (Hi Ward), fun picking.

This is one of the best record shops I've been to. Very knowledgeable employees who can more often than not find the exact album you're looking for either in shop or in the back. I honestly come here just to browse their new releases or wall featured records.

Has an excellent variety of Hawaiian artists in the store along with many contemporary musicians. Carries cassette tapes, CDs, and many MANY records. Record players are also available for purchase! I adore the atmosphere of the store as well, a great place to leisurely go through the music selection with excellent songs playing in the background all while the disco balls make their rounds. 10/10 will go again! P.S. They validate parking for the salt garage.
