Skull-Face is a heavily curated book, movie, and vinyl store in Chinatown that is a creative paradise for all things deep, dark, weird, and hard in pop culture, subculture, geek culture, and counterculture. Skull-Face will carry the best in used and new science-fiction, fantasy, horror, graphic novels, manga, crime fiction, music biographies, film books, true crime, and tons of related art, photo, and design books on the edgier side of things. There will also be a substantial classic literature section and dozens of other categories like surf/skate books, rebel fashion, philosophy, religion, and vintage Hawaiiana. Skull-Face is particularly proud to bring over thousands of rock, heavy metal, and punk vinyl LPs otherwise not found in Hawaii. With over 10,000 items on the shelves for the opening, collectors will lose their minds! Skull-Face will also be buying and trading books, DVDs, and vinyl as well as selling.

Found this gem of a store while scrolling through Google Maps. Me and my kid adventured here and found a treasure trove of books, graphic novels, vinyl, and even a selection of horror movies. There isn’t a storefront sign just yet but it’s not hard to miss if you follow maps. Upon entering the first thing you notice is the dark aesthetic, but upon closer examination, you’ll find quirky posters and tapestries, as well as fun displays. The book selection varies from sci-fi, horror, true crime, and history just to name a few. Service is great too. Jacob was instrumental in helping locate some vital reading material. The vinyl selection is gold. I mean, hardcore punk?! Yes please! This will be our new place to go!

Great selection of old pulpy paperbacks in good condition, ranging from Flash Gordon to James Baldwin. Plus the decor is enviable, so much personality.

Extremely well curated and stylish. Their vinyl selection is superior to any other store on island. The atmosphere is fun to be part of and the book selection is top notch. If you like metal, hardcore, punk, or rock, this record store caters far better to you than others.
