belmont is a little busy but nice mix of small businesses, stores and shops. parking was a breeze, pay box right across the street $2.50/hr 24/7. store was great, smell of old records greets you as you enter. small shop, comfortably crowded, records well arranged in old cardboard boxes, alphabetically, easy to find what you're looking for. they had most everything I was after, competitive prices. protective sleeve bags/static liners most items.

Sign on the door gives the stores hours, with the peculiar caveat “or whenever I feel like it.” Showed up during the store’s given hours, and it appears he did not feel like it on this particular Saturday morning. I felt shook and defeated, but at the same time, impressed. Touché to the audacity of this Chicagoan business owner. I hope we cross paths one day.

I live walking distance from here and walk by it almost every day. Have yet to see it open. Would love to check it out someday.

I really love the atmosphere of this smaller spot. The selection is insane for a store of this size, and the staff is always super helpful. Definitely one of the best spots on the north side.

Great selection. Cool owner, if it’s not open there’s another place down the street. Check it out if you’re in the neighborhood but don’t make it your only destination because hours vary. If you’re lucky then you may get in 🍀
