Long In the Tooth

Walking into Long in the Tooth is like walking into a dream! Legit. They have everything from old school Beatles and Dylan to underground jazz/black classical recordings of Duke and Bird! You can also find modern stuff as well. Truly a GEM! 🎶 🎧

1.) The prices are average I'd say, nothing is competitively priced. 2.) It's within walking distance of my apartment. 3.) definitely a great selection of oddball records and books. (Haven't skimmed through their movies yet) 4.) the owner is an old head and is loud about it. I honestly don't care how things were in the 90s, let the 90s die gracefully. The shop would be 4-5 star rating if it wasn't for the owner. And going forward I'll only go in if he isn't present. Which won't be frequently. I have bad social anxiety and admittedly am bit of a recluse most days. (Ironically living in Philly). The day this occurred I was sitting at home and thought to myself 'I should go out and at least be around people. I'll go check out the record store and skim for a little bit.' And when I got to the shop there were a few things that caught my eye. But the owner ruined the whole experience for me when he passive aggressively attacked how I was looking through the stacks of records. I choose to save my money by not picking up anything that caught my attention. Refuse to participate in something as humiliating as handing over money to an ungrateful human being.

Great selection and atmosphere. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore. I definitely feel like they've expanded their metal offerings since the last time I was here, which is great for me.

Super wide selection at this record store. Owner is a talkative and entertaining dude and the prices are reasonable. I always appreciate a record store that also sells books.
