Reviews of Hi-Voltage Records in Tacoma, WA

Big fan of this place. They have a punch card and some really great collectibles. Very solid range of vinyl and their cassettes are exceptional too.

The staff are exceptional, they're so knowledgeable and lovely to speak with. They have a really great selection of kids books. I don't really listen to records, but they have a large selection, plus a lot of other cool items like stickers and socks. Definitely recommend checking them out, even just for some browsing.

What a gem! We were last here many years ago, when it was much smaller. Now it's huge with bookstore side as well. If you are looking for jazz, they had a ton of stuff, classic old LPs as well as a great selection of recent reissues. Every other section was well-populated as well - rock, indie, electronic, soul, country, international, even a nice selection of library music and exotica. We will definitely be coming back to Tacoma again soon.

Hi voltage has a lot of cool stuff. They're connected to (part of?) a book store of sorts. Their record collection is huge! Didn't find what I was looking for and didn't feel like asking (Digable Planets), and their metal/goth is mixed in with indie/alt/punk, but I guess that's what they all do. Oh well. Friendly staff, I've bought second hand records here before, and I will be back!
