I absolutely love Rock and Soul DJ equipment and records!!!! Located conveniently right in the heart of NYC’s Garment district in Manhattan it is truly your one stop headquarters for everything DJ, including equipment, rentals, lessons etc as well as being a well renowned music store and record shop!!!! For more than 40 years it has tirelessly served music lovers worldwide with kindness, compassion and loving care. The staff is kind, caring compassionate and will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy with any and every purchase. Let me share a personal story, I had found Rock and Soul during the pandemic and my husband purchased for me my first DJ controller from them, it was truly amazing to get started on my DJ career and they give you all the right tools for getting you there. I was struggling emotionally with my outlook on music but Rock and Soul gives the support, friendship and help you need to thrive and there is truly a deep community feel among them, I cannot believe all the caring and support you get from them. They serve some of the biggest names in the business, like Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash, Run from Run DMC, even members of Saturday night Live stop by for equipment so as an added perk you may even meet a celebrity while shopping there. DJs perform live sets during their featured record store days as well, so you can hear great live music sets while you shop. They carry some of the best and most reliable names in DJ equipment like Rane, Numark, Arturia etc. and will make sure your equipment works well and is shipped promptly and safely. They also carry all the best records with some of the best music worldwide! All these reasons and more are why I choose rock and soul whenever I’m in NYC! The staff is beyond amazing giving it their all everyday and it’s a great place for any music lover!!!

Great I guess if you need DJ gear but not a great record store. Used vinyl not graded and new items are way overpriced, even for NYC. For example, Beatles records for $39.98 that sell for $22 at Walmart and Target.

Rock and soul has been a staple in my Dj career. I'm 38 and I've been going there since I'm 16. They have always carried top notch equipment for sale under what competitors have sold for for. These still amaze me with their prices and inventory! Sharon and the family are the best!!!

Unfortunately I needed to leave this excuse of a company 1 star!DO NOT BUY FROM THEM, do yourself a favour and find an alternative seller.Long story short.I ordered an item from their website that was shown as in stock and available, placed the order and paid the shipping cost to the U.K.I was then charged an additional shipping fee due to their site miscalculating the cost.When the goods finally arrived I had been supplied the wrong product which I raised with them on receipt.I was then told that the item I’d ordered wasn’t in stock and was no longer available for purchase.Their promise to collect the goods was never fulfilled so no refund was available leaving me financially out of pocket with the incorrect product that is worth less then I was charged.3 weeks ago I approached Rock and Soul to get the difference between my original order and what they supplied and again the promise was made but it never materialised.

I can't tell you how happy I am with Rock and Soul. In April, I ordered the Technics 1200 MK7 50th Anniversary (green) from Guitar Center for $1099. I waited until Oct 25th and nothing! Needless to say, I was upset and frustrated. I looked online and it showed that Rock and Soul had a green one for the same price of $1099! No Price Gouging! I called and spoke to a super nice lady Sheron. She confirmed that they did have one in stock. Went and did a stock check too! She asked me to purchase it online and she would send it out the next day. As promised, the next day, I received a shipping confirmation. Today, i received the turntable and its beautiful! Rock and Soul is everything I can ask for in a store. Great customer service, great selection and most of all, they have integrity! thank you for a great experience.
