George’s Song Shop

If you are in the Johnstown, Pennsylvania area and are a music fan, then George's Song Shop is a the place for you. This is America's oldest record store which opened in the 1930's. Little known fact: George's Song Shop also specializes in hard to find 45s. Take a look at my pictures but know that this is a place that needs to be experienced first hand. Our finds of the day: My son picked up a Queen vinyl album while I found an older, hard to find, Johnny Cash vinyl album as well as his last album on CD. Great experience to share with my son who is a musician!

Really great place! I love getting records and CDs here from time to time. The owner is the nicest guy and is really quick with finding anything he has that you ask for! I love looking through the huge selection, and his help makes it so much easier to find stuff

Owner is rude! Records aren’t priced. He follows you around and acts as if he is being inconvenienced because you’re shopping in his store. It’s a record store but he doesn’t want you to look through the records! I had to keep asking if he had a particular record because he wouldn’t let me look myself. His response was” if I have it, it’s going to be expensive “. So he wouldn’t even look and he didn’t want me to look. How is this Jackass still in business? I had a list of rare records and was planning on spending several hundred dollars to get what I could but I bought nothing and will not be going back. Don’t waste your time in this place!!

Hubby entire collection of albums went missing and he's now rebuilding it. George's Song Shop is amazing! I've never seen so much in one place.

Excellent monster assortment of vinyl lps. Crates of lps all over. Spent a few hours with my daughter thumbing through classics. Been going here since I was a kid. Glad it's still open!
