Amazing chill spot to relax, have a coffee, try a pastry or something on their lunch menu. It’s so quaint and love the old school feel of it. I have the jerk pork sandwich and it was amazing. Came out piping hot and seasoned so well. Great to pop in after a day of shopping and take a load off.

My husband and I love crate digging on weekends and we especially like to visit new record stores when we are traveling. We really enjoyed the relaxed and hybrid record store-bar-cafe setting at Citizen Vinyl. While they don't have the largest collection of records, they do press records on site and have tours on weekends to go behind the scenes and learn more about the process. You can see through to their pressing facility, but you actually have to reserve times in order to tour. Times on Fridays and Sundays are free so we will certainly check that out on our next visit back.

What a gem Citizen Vinyl turned out to be. Immediately upon entering I recognize the throwback sounds of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill on record. This mecca has a quality coffee shop, record store, and record pressing which you can see through large windows. The staff here is very friendly and pleasant to deal with. Pricing is better than standard for a hip coffee shop, and the vibe makes it an even better deal. I didn't purchase any food, so I can't comment on the quality. However, the mocha latte I ordered was wonderful. The to-go cups are corrugated in a manner that mimics the sleeve on other cups so you don't burn your hand, which makes just carrying your coffee around so much more convenient. There is a balcony which is accessible by staircase right next to the service counter. This place is fairly spacious as well. Next time I'm in the Asheville area I'll for sure be back. Well done, Citizen Vinyl. Cheers!

Really cool place to watch them press vinyl. The cafe area smelled wonderful. Plenty of seating. Definitely a neat place to stop by. Prices were reasonable and had older vinyls on sale for $3-8.

Citizen's Vinyl is a very cool place that is mainly a vinyl pressing plant with a recording studio. I highly recommend the tour. They don't do a lot of tours, but you need to sign up and they are free. Jen was our tour guide and was fantastic! (Definitely tip your guide!!) She started with the history of the building Citizen's Vinyl is located in - the old Asheville Citizens Times and WWNC Radio. Fitting that they now press vinyl.Inside, it's not only a vinyl record pressing facility, but there are food places, a bar and vinyl records, new and used, for sale. They also sell vintage equipment, although the selection is small. The plant has 3 presses, 1 manual one and two automatic. Definitely fun to watch!
