Visiting Alchemy Records was such a treat -- the layout, selection, and pricing are all top notch. But beyond the standard selling points, it's clear that Walter and his staff have created a space that is designed not just for their customers, but to build and support a community. Part record store, part coffee shop -- come in, come often, enjoy yourself, find your people!

I loved going here, the organization made it beyond easy to find what I was looking for, the selection was excellent, and of course the man in charge was extremely nice. I think I found my new go to record store. Can't wait to come again!

Alchemy Records is easily one of my favorite spots in San Marcos and a must-see if you're visiting from out of town. Walter is the coolest dude and his record shop selection is more reminiscent of your music friend's personal collection than a stereotypical record store. We have found some really unique stuff here from all genres and decades. Also the place doubles as a coffee shop and is super cozy to hang out in. Definitely check it out!

I bought two Temptations records and a Jackson 5 album during my first visit and definitely plan on returning. Their movie soundtrack selection is one of the best I've seen and I am legitimately impressed that their vintage records go as far back as the 1950s. The staff is super friendly, too. I highly recommend this store to anyone who loves vinyls -- it truly feels like rifling through someone's long-lost record collection.
