Canterbury Records

When you need to find records in the SGV area, this is probably one of the last great music stores. My husband goes to this place pretty often to get his fix of second-hand records-- in fact, this is probably the first record store he went to back in middle school. You can probably spend hours bargain hunting, or just admiring all the music played in this store. They have a big selection of classical music-- more my flavor. Check the hours before you come thought because they open a little later and were closed last time I was here in the morning.

Met the most nicest people. Rusty was very informative about the stylus I needed for my turntable. Wonderful and wide range of selection. Will be making a routine to shop again for my record collection. Highly recommend!

I have been collecting music since 1967, the days when Record stores were packed to the rafters with new, used and promo pressings. Those days are long gone, much of the vinyl is being sold on line.I did manage to pick up 3 new albums at fair prices and enjoyed looking at the Record Day pressings still available going back three years. Oh, the memories of digging through crates on Melrose Ave on a Saturday really take me back to a simpler time.

Good selection of new CDs, but nothing really used which is more what I'm after. Vinyl selection was underwhelming and over priced. Asked a man towards the rear of the store for help finding something and he looked put out. He told me to ask the people up front, but they were already helping another customer.

The record selection is a little small, mostly cd's. I was lucky to find a new copy of Pink Floyd's The Wall. Great little shop. Very happy with my visit.
