Limited hours. Parking is difficult. Records are overpriced. Most items well categorized and organized, but still a lot of clutter on the verge of hording. Still COVID cautious, requires a mask in 2023.
Moved New location is hard to find. Turns out it’s in the basement of some dingy office building and feels like you’re visiting your dermatologist. Walked into a lobby/waiting area with a bunch of paranoid Hand written notes giving you confusing instructions. Said it was open but rung the bell (since when do you have to do that at a record shop) and it wasn’t.
Huge selection, with new additions all the time. Super helpful staff.
I want to give a shout out to the integrity of this business. I sold a very large collection of music and accepted the offer made to me, that felt very fair. A few weeks later the owner contacted me, because after a closer evaluation of the collection , he felt he had undervalued it and offered to send me a check to cover the difference. I was shocked. He could have easily said nothing to me and have considered himself incredibly lucky. But he took the high road and kept his promise. Such honesty was amazing. A good guy. I would for sure do business with them again.
Oh man, Joe’s is the best. The staff is always friendly and mellow. I could spend hours in here. Although I miss the old location, I’ve grown quite fond of this new one already!
