We sip and shop here every time we go to Charlotte. The staff is always helpful. Luke even remembered a record I bought a previous year and pulled the next album in the series just for me. We love getting regular shipments from here. Great selection from multiple genres! If you love record shopping, this is the place to go.

I found this excellent record shop shortly after moving to Charlotte and it quickly became my go-to for records (and wine, beer, and snacks - Premium Sound shares space with TipTop Daily Market). Luke, the owner, knows all genres of music and I always leave there with interesting tidbits about artists or albums that I have never heard before. The shop is not huge but it is immaculately curated with the perfect mix of new and used vinyl. I’ve been to every other record store in and around the Charlotte area and nowhere else compares. If you are looking for pretension and musical snobbery go elsewhere. But if you want to find great records at great prices with a down to earth proprietor, Premium Sound will become your one stop shop for records in the greater Charlotte area.

Luke is incredibly knowledgeable about all genres of music and he's carefully curated the vinyl in his cozy shop, making it the best record store in the area by a long shot. You'll find the best selection of punk, rock, country, hip hop, jazz, world music, and everything in between at Premium Sound. And if you want to get rid of the vinyl that's been taking up space in your house, bring it here and Luke will gladly take it off your hands. Grab a beer while you browse the store and you can always pick Luke's brain for recommendations. I can't recommend Premium Sound highly enough. Get down there and check it out!

We visited this cool record shop when visiting from Nashville. They had a great selection of new & pre-loved records and allowed us to sip on a beer that we purchased at Tip Top while perusing the inventory. The staff was very welcoming & knowledgeable. Will visit again when we return to Charlotte.

A great record store with an incredible selection. Very friendly owner and good prices. Everything from jazz to hip hop and the in between. Cool bootleg selection as well. Should visit for any audiophile
