This is my happy place! I stumbled upon this gem and am so happy I did. The selection is amazing. Want something from Scream? Got it. Want Frank Sinatra? Got it. Want some obscure death metal? May not have it in stock, but the owner will try his darndest to get it for you. Not only is the owner super helpful, but he's also a true music fan and and full of amazing stories! I love browsing the stacks and being able to ask questions about bands I haven't heard of, or what he has playing on the stereo. It is hands down the best record store I have been to ( and I've been to a lot in my time).
I will NEVER buy from them again. NEVER will step inside this store.Zero stars if I could select it.Very poor customer service.Prices are too high – look elsewhere and you will find a better deals. Most records are new reissues -which you can get for better price elsewhere without Mikes markup.Discriminating against people – as soon as he heard my accent (English is not my first language) –he was very rude to me.Stop discrimination - avoid this store. The long story: I was trying to support this store and bought several records from them in the past. After trying to have conversation with the owner and checking on the price, I’ve being told that he is too busy doing something on his computer. I felt not welcome in the store. It was Saturday morning and I was the only the one customer in the store. After 15 min of browsing, he confronted me by using profanities that maybe I am not in the right store because he felt insulted that I double check price on one of vinyl and it is his store and I don’t know how much he puts into it.I had to immediately walk out of the store because his yelling of profanities made me feel VERY uncomfortable and UNSAFE – as it was only me and he in the store and the store located in the very remote part of the city.I have been in many record stores – (I lived in Arizona, Vegas, Portland, Europe). I have over 1500 records in my collection) but never had that bad experience as in Sound and Vision Vinyl.Congratulations! You did it! Worst customer service ever!Go to Randy’s or Lavender Records in Ogden –they have better used selection and better prices and people.Do not support this ignorant, rude and discriminating Mike.
This has been my go to shop for a few years now and I always look forward to coming back time after time. Michael is great to talk to and always has great stock coming through the shop (and he posts daily videos of what comes in which is very nice). I've spent many hours in the shop just talking about The Beatles or Bowie and I've always felt welcomed in as a music lover.
Neat Record store! One of my favorite Salt Lake shops! Nice selection of vinyl and intelligent staff! Prices are pretty good and don't mind paying a little extra to support local! A ton of cool collecters items and gear as well. Thanks Again!
Such a great store with a perfect selection and very reasonable prices! This store cuts out the BS and specializes in getting the real music lovers music. The deep tracks. Just when you think it can't get any better, Mike turns on that good old fashioned New York charm. You literally feel like you're there in the hustle and bustle, where everyone greets you with a warm "hello'".😊 -⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
